Nigeria’s Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the results of candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Thursday, 16 April, will be released later today.
The board confirmed the update in a statement shared by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, on social media platform X.
He said all results from the first day of the examination would be made available before midnight on Friday, 17 April, with an official public announcement expected once they are ready.
“This is to inform all candidates who sat for the 2026 UTME on Thursday, 16th April 2026, that their results will be released today before midnight,” the statement read.
The UTME, which began this week, is scheduled to run until 22 April and is being conducted in four daily sessions, starting from 7:30am and ending at 6:00pm.
JAMB says the structure is designed to manage the large number of candidates and reduce congestion at Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the country.
This year, about 2.2 million candidates are sitting for the examination in 966 accredited centres nationwide. The board says all centres are expected to meet required standards, including functional computers, stable internet access, reliable power supply, and trained staff.
The UTME is a key examination for students seeking admission into Nigeria’s universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
