Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé has been named The Best FIFA Men’s Player for 2025, completing a remarkable double after winning the Ballon d’Or earlier this year.
The 28-year-old Frenchman received the prestigious award at a glittering ceremony held at the Fairmont Katara Hall in Doha, Qatar.
Dembélé edged out stiff competition from Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal and his compatriot Kylian Mbappé of Real Madrid.
His outstanding performances during the 2024-25 season were pivotal in PSG securing their first-ever UEFA Champions League title, alongside a domestic treble including Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France. The winger-turned-striker registered an impressive 35 goals and numerous assists in 53 appearances, showcasing his adaptability and clinical finishing.
This victory marks Dembélé as the first French player to win The Best FIFA Men’s Player award since its inception in 2016. At 28, he achieved the honor younger than legends like Cristiano Ronaldo (31) and Lionel Messi (32) did in their first wins.
The awards also saw Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmatí claim The Best FIFA Women’s Player for the third consecutive year, while PSG coach Luis Enrique was named Men’s Coach of the Year.
Dembélé’s rise caps a career resurgence, overcoming past injury concerns to become one of football’s elite.
