The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) of orchestrating a scheme to disenfranchise voters ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial election scheduled for September 21.
In a press statement made available to Truth Live News on Thursday by Rev Olu Martins, Deputy Director General of the Asue/Ogie Campaign Management Council, the APC plans to bribe Electoral Officers across the state’s eighteen local governments with N5 million each, spreading falsehoods that voter cards have not been printed.
The PDP has vowed not to stand idly by as the APC attempts to derail the democratic process through corruption and coercion. In a strong statement, the party called on the Edo State Resident Electoral Commissioner and the National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to intervene and ensure that the electoral process remains free from manipulation.
