CALABAR, CROSS RIVER – The Cross River State chapter of the African Democratic Congress has commenced the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for aspirants seeking to contest legislative seats in the forthcoming elections.
The exercise, which opens on May 14 and closes on May 22, covers positions for the Senate, House of Representatives and the Cross River State House of Assembly.
The party said the move forms part of preparations to field candidates for the 2026/2027 general elections and described the process as open to qualified members interested in contesting on its platform.
In a statement issued in Calabar and signed by the party’s State Secretary, Dr. MacFarlane Ejah, the ADC said the nomination process was designed to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all eligible aspirants.
“The ADC stands for a new era of politics built on integrity, competence, and service to the people. We encourage capable and committed sons and daughters of Cross River State to take advantage of this opportunity to offer themselves for leadership,” the statement said.
The party leadership stated that the exercise reflects its commitment to internal democracy and its resolve to present candidates who represent the aspirations of Cross River residents.
According to the statement, all purchases and related transactions will be conducted through official party channels at the state secretariat to guarantee transparency and accountability.
The forms will be available for purchase at the party’s secretariat located at 38 MCC Road, by Pearl Suites Hotels, Calabar.
The party advised interested aspirants to visit the secretariat within the stipulated period to obtain nomination forms and receive further guidance on submission requirements and screening procedures.
ADC said the nomination exercise marks an important phase in its preparations for the legislative contests, as political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of the next electoral cycle in Cross River State.
Dr. Ejah said the party remains focused on building a credible political alternative capable of advancing good governance, economic empowerment and inclusive development in the state.
The party urged intending aspirants and members of the public seeking clarification on the process to contact its state secretariat for further enquiries.
