2027: Kogi PDP Endorses Automatic Ticket for Natasha

The Kogi State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has ratified an automatic ticket for Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as the party’s sole candidate for the Kogi Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general election.

The decision was taken on Thursday, April 30, 2026, during a meeting held at the party’s secretariat in Lokoja, where members endorsed the earlier approval granted by the State Chairman, Muhammed Gambo.

The committee also reaffirmed Akpoti-Uduaghan’s leadership within the party in the state, citing her consistent support and financial contributions to party activities and structure.

Speaking at the meeting, Gambo, on behalf of the working committee, commended her performance in the Senate, describing her representation as impactful.

“She has continued to make the party proud through purposeful representation,” he said.

“Beyond her legislative duties, her impact in Kogi Central through empowerment programmes and infrastructure development has been outstanding.”

He highlighted some of her interventions to include the construction of schools and markets, provision of housing, and skills acquisition programmes for constituents.

The PDP assured the senator of its continued loyalty and support, declaring her the unanimous choice for the 2027 Kogi Central senatorial race.

The development follows her official declaration on Monday, April 27, 2026, to seek re-election after what she described as months of consultations and increasing pressure from constituents across the five local government areas.
