Just In: PRP Opens Doors to ADC Leaders Ahead of 2027

The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has revealed that leaders from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition have been reaching out to defect to the PRP in recent weeks.

Speaking on ARISE News’ The Morning Show, Baba-Ahmed disclosed:

“In the last three or four weeks, you will be amazed at how many people have reached out to us and said, ‘We’re coming over to your party,’ and we say, our doors are open, our doors are for ADC coalition leaders.”

The statement comes amid growing instability within the ADC, including leadership disputes, internal wrangling, and reported friction with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Recent closed-door meetings between PRP and ADC executives, including ADC National Chairman Senator David Mark, have fueled speculation of deeper strategic engagements aimed at forging a stronger front against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Baba-Ahmed positioned the PRP as a stable and inclusive platform for genuine opposition unity, emphasizing its readiness to welcome defectors seeking a credible alternative. The PRP has been actively engaging with other parties, expressing solidarity with the ADC over its challenges while positioning itself as a viable “backup platform” for opposition forces.
