CROSS RIVER, CALABAR – The Efik Ministers Forum has reportedly held a prayer session for Ambassador Nkoyo Toyo’s governorship ambition in Cross River State, with its president, Reverend Udowong Udowong, said to have led the gathering.
According to the account, Udowong read from Psalm 62:11 and Daniel 4:17 during the session, drawing attention to God’s sovereignty and the need for divine guidance in leadership.
The reported prayer focused on Toyo’s aspiration to govern Cross River State, although further details about the gathering, including its venue, date and attendance, were not provided.
Toyo, a former Nigerian Ambassador to Ethiopia and Djibouti, was also reported to have urged clergymen to educate their congregations on the importance of monitoring their votes to protect electoral integrity.

The reported appeal emphasised voter awareness and the role citizens can play in safeguarding the electoral process.
The account further stated that Toyo referred to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s 12-point agenda, expressing confidence that it would improve Nigerians’ living conditions and highlighting production subsidies as a key measure.
However, the available information did not provide further details about the proposed subsidies or explain how the referenced agenda would translate into specific policies for Cross River State.
It also remains unclear whether the reported prayer session represented a formal endorsement of Toyo’s governorship ambition by the Efik Ministers Forum or a religious expression of support for her aspiration.
