Dan juma’ah La’ah, who served two terms as Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial Zone, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). La’ah, who spent eight years in the National Assembly, announced his departure in a letter dated February 4, 2025, which was submitted to the Ward Chairman of PDP Mallagum Ward, Kaura Local Government Area.

In his resignation letter, La’ah stated, “I humbly write to notify the leadership and members of Peoples Democratic Party, Mallagum Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State of my resignation from the party with effect from 4/02/2025.” He further expressed gratitude to party members, saying, “I, however, thank each of you for your cooperation and support given to me, particularly during my eight-year tenure as Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial Zone, at the National Assembly, Abuja.”

La’ah clarified that his decision to leave was personal, emphasizing, “My resignation which is personal doesn’t affect my relationship with the people. I therefore wish everyone the best in all future endeavors.”

Speculation is rife about La’ah’s political future, with no indication yet of which party he might align with next. The Kaduna State chapter of the PDP has not yet issued any official statement regarding his departure. Attempts to get comments from Maria Dogo, the party’s Publicity Secretary, were unsuccessful as she did not respond to calls or messages.
