Delta ministerial nominee, Festus Keyamo, has been asked to take a bow and go after expressing remorse and extending his apologies to the Senate for his absence during the 9th National Assembly while serving as Minister of State for Labour and Productivity in the previous administration.

Recall that we reported that the Senate screening process was disrupted on Monday due to a motion raised by Senator Darlington Nwokocha (LP – Abia Central) who demanded that Keyamo’s screening be postponed based on his previous conduct towards the National Assembly during his ministerial term.

Nwokocha accused Keyamo of showing disrespect to the 9th National Assembly and making allegations of corruption against the former administration.

Keyamo was reportedly summoned to clarify issues related to a Special Public Works program during that time but failed to attend the invitation.

After a tumultuous screening session, the Senate entered into an executive session to deliberate on the matter, in which the Senate President, Akpabio, had to rush to the presidential villa to meet Tinubu on the matter.

And Upon reconvening, Keyamo humbly apologized for his past actions, and the Senate allowed him to proceed without further hindrance, asking him to take a bow and go.
