President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the appointment of board chairpersons for 42 federal organizations, alongside a new secretary to the board of the Civil Defence, Immigration, and Prisons Services. These appointments, which include a new Managing Director for the Nigerian Railway Corporation and a Director-General for the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), take immediate effect.

Truth Live News gathered that the President emphasized that these chairpersons’ roles are non-executive, urging them not to interfere in the management of the organizations under their purview.

This comprehensive appointment reshuffle reflects the administration’s commitment to improving the efficiency and governance of federal institutions.

Key Appointments

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Ministry of Youth Development: Hon. Hillard Eta (Cross River) appointed Chairman.

Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA): Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi (Lagos) appointed Chairman.

Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Ministry of Aviation: H.E. Abdullahi U. Ganduje (Kano) named Chairman.

National Sugar Development Council: Sen. Surajudeen Bashiru Ajibola (Osun) takes over as Chairman.

Among the other high-profile appointments, Raji Kazeem Kolawole (Oyo) has been named Director-General of the National Board for Technology Incubation, and Dr. Kayode Isiak Opeifa (Lagos) will serve as Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation.

The appointments also extend to healthcare institutions, with new chairpersons for Federal Teaching Hospitals and Medical Centres nationwide. These include:

Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta: Mr. Abdullahi Dayo Israel (Lagos)

David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital, Ubuhu: Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu (Imo)

Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti: Aare (Hon.) Durotolu Oyebode Bankole (Ogun)

Technological and Environmental Agencies:

National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion: Sen. Tokunbo Afikuyomi (Lagos) appointed Chairman.

National Agency for Great Green Wall: Sen. Magnus Abe (Rivers) named Chairman.

Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC): Isa Sadiq Achida (Sokoto) to serve as Chairman.

Maritime, Transportation, and Safety:

The maritime and transportation sectors are also represented in the appointments:

Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA): Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar (Kaduna) named Chairman.

National Inland Waterways Authority: Hon. Musa Sarkin Adar (Sokoto) appointed Chairman.

Civil Defence and Immigration

Major General Jubril Abdulmalik (Rtd.) has been appointed Secretary to the Civil Defence, Immigration, and Prisons Services Board.
