The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s New Year message, saying it failed to address unemployment and hunger in Nigeria.
In a statement obtained by Truth Live News, PDP spokesman Debo Ologunagba described the president’s speech as “self-satisfying” and lacking in direction for the nation.
Ologunagba noted that Tinubu’s administration seems disconnected from the economic hardship in the country.
He emphasized that the president’s speech did not provide solutions to the numerous problems caused by the APC’s misrule, including the high price of petroleum products, widespread hunger, and the country’s ailing productive sector.
The PDP also expressed disappointment that Tinubu’s message did not articulate a plan to address unemployment or provide a clear policy roadmap for critical sectors like electricity, oil and gas, road infrastructure, and food production.
Furthermore, Ologunagba argued that if the APC administration truly cared about Nigerians, the New Year address would have included definite pronouncements on the price of fuel.
He suggested that with effective management of resources, Nigerians should not pay more than N350 per liter for petrol.
The PDP spokesperson concluded that Nigerians have lost faith in Tinubu’s administration and are eagerly awaiting the next round of elections, which will mark the end of the APC’s “nightmare” for the nation.
