Troops Eliminate Kidnappers, Rescue Victims in Kaduna Raid

Troops from Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have neutralized two suspected kidnappers and liberated four hostages in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to intelligence sources which revealed to Zagazola Makama, a West African  Security Watchdog and Analyst, the operation was initiated following a distress call on February 14 at around 8:30 PM, reporting the abduction of passengers on the Kafanchan-Kwoi road near Afana Daji village.

Truth Live News learnt that responding swiftly, the troops managed to rescue one victim who had suffered from gunshot injuries.

The following day, on February 15 at approximately 4:00 PM, acting on solid intelligence, the troops launched an offensive in the Angwan Rimi Forest. A fierce gun battle ensued, resulting in the death of two kidnappers.

During the subsequent search, the military recovered significant items including one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine, eight rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, ten mobile phones, various foodstuffs, and a cash sum amounting to ₦1,136,000.

The three other abducted individuals, identified as Mr. Mathew Ayemowa, Mr. Tunde Salam, and Mr. Mustapha Mohammed, were safely rescued from their captors.

No further details have been released by the authorities, but this operation underscores the ongoing efforts to curb kidnapping and ensure the safety of citizens in the region.
