Toyin Abraham Unfollows Funke Akindele After Public Snub at Iyabo Ojo’s Movie Premiere

A video that went viral on Saturday evening March 29, 2026 captured a moment Funke Akindele openly ignored Toyin Abraham at the premiere of Iyabo Ojo’s movie “7 Doors” in what is now being described as one of the most public snubs the industry has ever witnessed.

The incident occurred at the movie premiere on the evening of March 29. Toyin was walking around the venue greeting guests when she approached the table where Funke was seated. She touched the actress and said “Aunty Funke” and was completely ignored.

Toyin had first greeted Iyabo Ojo who was sitting at the same table and received a warm response before turning to Funke. After Funke’s cold silence Toyin quietly moved on and went to greet Mercy Aigbe instead.

Social media footage also captured what appeared to be a second snub from Funke toward Toyin at the same event making the slight appear deliberate rather than accidental.

The video spread within minutes and Toyin did not hold back her response. “I have unfollow her. God forbid bad thing. If I ever greet her again that means I am a bastard,” she wrote on social media and followed through immediately, unfollowing Funke Akindele on Instagram.

Funke returned the gesture by unfollowing Toyin Abraham in kind confirming what many suspected: whatever existed between the two women before Saturday night is now firmly over.

Neither actress has explained what triggered the cold war between them. The two have had a complicated relationship over the years periods of visible cordiality followed by stretches of noticeable distance but Saturday’s public snub represents the most open and documented breakdown between them to date.

Nigerians on social media have since taken sides, with the incident trending across X, Instagram and TikTok throughout Saturday night into Sunday morning.
