Hon. Umar Namashaya Diggi, the former Chairman of Kalgo Local Government Area in Kebbi State, has disappeared following an assault by unidentified gunmen along the Birnin Kebbi-Diggi Road.
According to intelligence sources that revealed to Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad Region, Truth Live News learnt that the attack took place at around 12:30 a.m. on February 17 while Diggi was driving back to his village from Birnin Kebbi. At Gayi Village, he was pursued by another vehicle.

“The assailants forced him to stop, set his Toyota Corolla with registration number KLG 637 AA ablaze, and fled the scene. His whereabouts remain unknown,” a police source revealed.
Upon arrival at the site, security forces found items believed to be linked to the attack, including a lighter, a stick, and a container that smelled of fuel.
The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the attack and stated that a full-scale investigation is underway to determine Diggi’s fate and to apprehend the perpetrators.
