Prince Harry Faces Libel Claim From Former Charity Sentebale

A charity co-founded by Prince Harry has initiated legal action against him in a defamation case filed at the High Court in London, according to court records.

The dispute involves Sentebale, an organisation established in 2006 to support young people affected by HIV and AIDS in southern Africa. The charity was created by Prince Harry alongside Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in memory of Princess Diana.

Court documents show that a libel claim was submitted last month against the prince and a close associate who previously served as a trustee. Details of the allegations have not been made public.

The legal action follows a breakdown in relations between Harry and the charity’s leadership, which led to his resignation as patron in 2025 after a public disagreement with the chair of the board.

Following the dispute, governance concerns within the organisation were raised and reviewed by regulators. Authorities later noted weaknesses in internal management but did not uphold claims of bullying or harassment.

The charity has not commented on the ongoing case, and representatives for Prince Harry have also declined to respond.

The matter is expected to proceed through the High Court, though no hearing date has yet been confirmed.
