The Chairman/CEO Nigerian in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa has spoken on why some Nigerians with valid visas to the United Arab Emirates UAE, have been turned back at the airport by their authorities.
According to Dabiri-Erewa, the UAE authorities recently released new guidelines for visa application for certain age categories.
However, in a bid to circumvent the laid down guidelines, many Nigerians now apply for visas through family visas process.
Upon arrival at the UAE airports, they are turned back because they arrive alone without any family members.
She also mentioned other criteria like six months genuine bank statement, accomodations as well as a return ticket are a must when coming into the UAE. Some Nigerians do not meet up with some or all of these criteria, so they are also turned back at the airport.
