Former President Olusegun Obasanjo received the wife of the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Abubakar Atiku, at his home in Abeokuta, Ogun state, South West Nigeria, on Sunday January 22nd, 2023.
Obasanjo and the present PDP presidential aspirant, Atiku, ran the affairs of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007, when the former worked in the stead of the Vice President.
However, during the campaigns that have ravaged the Nigerian political atmosphere towards the forthcoming February 2023 elections, Obj as Obasanjo is fondly called, surprisingly endorsed the candidate of the Labour Party LP, Peter Gregory Obi, as his choice candidate for the presidential seat, leaving out his former counterpart, Atiku.
In a video captured by Africa Independent Television AIT, Titi Atiku, wife of the PDP candidate, on Sunday, visited Obasanjo in his home in Abeokuta, where she was warmly received by the former president.
Many Nigerians have expressed shock at the visit and questioned the essence of it, considering Obj’s rejection of her husband, Atiku.
The reason for the visit was not revealed but it was evident that Mrs. Atiku who was clad in a dress made with her husband’s campaign fabric, was warmly received at the residence, right from when she alighted from her vehicle.
