Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has issued a warning to former presidential candidate Peter Obi, saying his security is not guaranteed should he visit Edo State again without prior notice to the state government.

On Friday, while receiving one decampee into the APC, Edo governor, Monday Okpebholo sent a “direct message” to Mr. Peter Obi.

“The man wey e say e nor get shi-shi, I am sending a direct message to him, there is a new sheriff in town; he cannot come to Edo without telling me, because his security will never be guaranteed, whatever happens to him when he is in Edo State, he will take it”.

“I am serious about it”, Okpebholo emphasized.

Okpebholo has also been strongly rebuked by the people for daring to ridicule Peter Obi’s contribution to a hospital in Benin at a recent visit; “that Peter Obi highly regarded by Nigerians at home and in the diaspora as the conscience of the nation and an example of the kind of leader Nigerians are now yearning for ahead 2027, Okpebholo should even consider himself lucky having Peter visit his State”.

Observers have advised Okpebholo to focus on governance as 2027 is a distance away; and that his works are what will speak in his desperation to “give Tinubu 2.5Million votes”, not the number of threats he dishes out to national conscience like Peter Obi, with very strong capacity to administer Nigeria.
