The FCT Command of the Police Force has announced that it will begin enforcing the prohibition on tinted windows and obscured number plates.

The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory, CP Olatunji Disu, made this announcement while showcasing several suspects apprehended for various offenses in the FCT yesterday.

He said, “There is a ban on it. It’s even a legal matter because there is a law on it. The police only suspended the enforcement of the law because we had suspended the issuance of the tint permit.

“On November 23, 2024, at approximately 1:00 PM, operatives from the State Intelligence Department (SID) apprehended one Ibrahim Kabiru during a routine patrol along Ahmadu Bello Way. Suspicious circumstances surrounding his parked vehicle prompted a search, revealing one Point-of-Sale (POS) machine, one knife, scissors, two mobile phones, and female luggage suspected to be stolen.

“Upon interrogation, KABIRU failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the items, raising concerns about his involvement in ‘One Chance’ robberies. He is in custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation.”
