Academic activities have been reportedly grounded at the Edo State-owed Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma , following the protest embarked upon by the workers of the institution over non payment of salaries.

The workers also condemned what they described as “selective payment of salary, victimization and oppression of workers in the University by the University Administration and Special Intervention Team (SIT)”.

Reports have it that substantial number of workers (academic and non-teaching) have not been paid salaries for 13 months now while some are being owed 7 to 10 months.

The spontaneous protest which broke out in the earlier hour, has crippled all academic and administrative activities in the university.

True Live News gathered that reports have it that members of the University, including the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sunnie Adagbonyin, have taken to their heels during the protest by the workers.
