Yemen’s Houthis have declared war on Israel amid ceaseless attacks by the Isreali forces on Gaza.
This was announced by the military spokesperson Yahya Sarea in a statement on Tuesday.
Sarea said, a large batch of ballistic and winged missiles and a large number of drones have been launched at various targets against Isreal.
In a series of posts on X, Sarea described the attacks as supportive of Palestinians in Gaza who are facing “American-Israeli aggression” amid the “weakness of the official Arab regimes and the collusion of some with the Israeli enemy.”
He wrote: “In response to Israel’s aggression in Gaza, “with the help of God Almighty, our armed forces launched a large batch of ballistic and winged missiles and a large number of drones at various targets of the Israeli enemy in the occupied territories.”
Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that fighter jets shot down incoming drones while the Arrow air defense system intercepted a ballistic missile launched from the Red Sea area.
“After warning sirens down south, Israel says another UAV attack from Red Sea just intercepted – before reaching the city of Eilat.”
“This is 3rd known Iranian UAV/cruisemissile attack from Red Sea since Hamas war began.”
Truth Live News reports that Houthis otherwise called Ansar Allah meaning supporters of God is an islamist political and armed organization that emerged from the Yemeni governorate of Saada in the 1990s.
The Houthi movement attracts followers in Yemen by portraying themselves as fighting for economic development, the end of political marginalization of Zaidi Shia Muslims.
The Houthis aim to govern all of Yemen, and external anti-imperialist movements against the United States, Israel, and Saudi Arabia.
