Michael Emenalo, former executive at Chelsea, has been appointed by the Saudi Pro League as its first-ever director of football.
This move highlights Saudi Arabia’s strong desire to attract top talent both on and off the field. Emenalo gained recognition for his successful tenure at Chelsea from 2011 to 2017, during which he played a crucial role in the club’s remarkable achievements across men’s, women’s, and academy divisions.
His expertise lies in overseeing transfer activities and he was responsible for signing renowned football stars like Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah, and N’Golo Kante.
After leaving Chelsea, Emenalo served as the sporting director at AS Monaco for two years before venturing into consultancy work.
