Bayern Munich defeated a star-studded PSG team to claim a 1-0 away victory.

Coman’s early second-half goal appeared to be enough to overcome a sluggish PSG, but the entrance of Kylian Mbappe spurred the hosts into life.

He had two goals called out. And by the time the second leg arrives, a potentially fully fit Mbappe may wreak havoc on a Bayern defence that will be without Benjamin Pavard, who was sent out for two bookings late in the game.

Mbappe’s entrance changed the entire nature of the game, giving Neymar and Lionel Messi much more leeway to do what they do best after being passengers for much of the opening hour.

Neymar, in particular, became far more threatening, finishing with three shots, one of which was on target, and nine touches in the box from five final-third entrances.

A 1-0 away win gives Bayern the advantage going into the second leg, with the Bavarians undoubtedly confident of maintaining their unbeaten home record this season.

PSG will need to attack from the outset in order to overcome their deficit at the Allianz Arena on March 8, but if Kylian Mbappe is fit enough to do so, there is no question that he and his teammates will do just that in Munich.
