Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has likened his team’s upcoming Premier League clash against Arsenal to a cup final, stressing the importance of the match in the title race.
With both teams set to face each other after the international break, Guardiola recognized the vital nature of the encounter, which could play a crucial role in determining the destination of the league title at the end of the season.
With Arsenal currently leading the league table and Manchester City occupying third place, Guardiola maintained that his side faces a tough battle against the Gunners at the Etihad Stadium.
In a conversation with TribalFootball, the Spanish tactician noted the importance of resting during the break, recalling the intense period the team has experienced.
Guardiola however expressed his desire to focus on the present moment before shifting his attention to the upcoming challenge against Arsenal.
“We have a final against Arsenal. But for now, we rest. I don’t want to think about the future – it has been such an intense period,” Guardiola affirmed.
He added, “When we come back, we have three days to prepare for the game against Arsenal. Let’s go.”
