OPM Pastor Offers Incentives to Secure Husband for Autistic Adopted Daughter

The founder of Omega Power Ministries, Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has announced plans to arrange the marriage of one of his adopted daughters, a 21-year-old autistic woman, Chiemeka Chibuzor.

Chinyere made the disclosure via a Facebook post, stating that the arrangement is intended to secure the young woman’s long-term care and well-being.

“I am giving out another of my adopted daughters in marriage. Her name is Chiemeka Chibuzor. She is 21 years old and has autism. She can speak and hear well,” he wrote.

The cleric said prospective suitors must be young and “physically and mentally fit in all forms.”

To encourage interest, he outlined a range of incentives, including lifetime financial support, free housing, and a property to be jointly owned by the couple. He also noted that officials of the church would conduct periodic, unannounced visits to monitor her welfare.

According to him, the arrangement is designed to ensure she is properly cared for, protected, and able to live a fulfilling life.

The development follows a similar, widely publicised initiative by the pastor, in which he facilitated the marriage of a non-verbal autistic man, popularly known as Aboy, to an older woman on March 29.

That union sparked mixed reactions, with critics raising concerns over consent, dignity, and the ethics of arranging marriages for individuals with cognitive disabilities.

In response to the backlash, Chinyere later gifted the man—renamed Elijah—a Lexus car and a plot of land, and appointed him as an ambassador for the church’s free school for children with autism and Down syndrome.
