An Awori socio-political group spanning Lagos and Ogun states has publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Operating under the banner Awori Nation 4 Tinubu, the group also threw its weight behind key governorship hopefuls from the All Progressives Congress. These include Obafemi Hamzat for Lagos State and Solomon Adeola for Ogun State.
The announcement was communicated through a statement by Adeniyi Jafojo, spokesperson of the Awori Welfare Association of Nigeria. He relayed that the decision followed extensive engagement with community stakeholders across all 20 local government areas where Awori people reside in both states.
According to the group’s convener, Semiu Yusuf, the endorsement reflects a deliberate and collective stance after assessing both local community needs and national conditions. He emphasized that their support is rooted in confidence in the APC’s direction and the candidates’ ability to deliver practical and forward-looking solutions.
Yusuf noted that the endorsed candidates stand out not just for their promises, but for their perceived readiness to address immediate challenges without compromising long-term development.
