In a startling revelation, the Concerned Edo Central Youths have raised the alarm over the alleged embezzlement of over N650 million Naira in constituency funds by the governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Edo State.
Truth Live News gathered that the funds, approved as emergency relief by both the Presidency and the National Assembly, was intended to alleviate the severe economic hardships faced by ordinary Nigerian citizens.
The funds were expected to be administered directly by the 109 Senators to ensure rapid distribution and impact.
However, the Edo Central Senatorial District has yet to benefit from this stimulus package, which Senator Monday Okpebholo, also known as Akpakomiza, claimed to have allocated towards constructing a purported Tech Park.
This announcement came a few weeks ago when Senator Okpebholo declared he had sequestered the funds for a “secret surprise project.”
In stark contrast, other senators, such as Tunde Abiru from Lagos Constituency, have successfully delivered on their commitments, providing much-needed relief to their constituents.
The Concerned Edo Central Youths are calling on Senator Okpebholo to immediately provide a public declaration regarding the use of the relief funds meant to alleviate the suffering of the people in Edo Central.
“The people of Edo Central Senatorial District deserve transparency and accountability,” a spokesperson for the youth group stated. “We demand that Senator Akpakomiza clarify how these funds have been utilized and ensure they are directed towards the intended purpose of reducing hardship in our community.”
