The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for Edo State, Barrister Asue Ighodalo, and his running mate, Barrister Osarodion Ogie, are receiving widespread support in Ikpoba-Okha local government area. Men, women, and youths are rallying behind the Asue-Ogie movement, which has become a significant political force in Edo State. Led by Pastor Blessed Ighiwiyisi, the campaign council is drawing support from various demographics ahead of the crucial September election.

Truthlive news gathered that the campaign council’s Ward-to-Ward tour yesterday brought them to Ward 5, where they met with a group of Christians convened by Bishop Osadolor Ochei. The Christians, from different denominations, listened attentively as Ikpoba-Okha local government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, highlighted his achievements in the ward.

“I have graded more than twenty roads in this ward and provided market money across various markets,” Chairman Osayande noted. “The ever-busy St. Saviour road, which serves several communities, deserves commendation for its improvements under the governor’s direction.”

Osayande emphasized the unique opportunity of having a gubernatorial candidate from Ikpoba-Okha and urged the community to support the ticket for accelerated local development. He assured the Church that any remaining infrastructure and human-capacity projects would be addressed under an Asue-Ogie administration.

Bishop Ochei praised the Council Chairman’s work as a model for effective local governance and urged him to continue his efforts. Following the church meeting, the campaign moved to Avbiama community, where elders, women, and youths pledged their support for the PDP/AiO² ticket. They commended Osayande for his contributions, particularly the construction of a classroom block and the provision of school furniture.

“PDP is our own,” the community members declared. “We will ensure a PDP victory this September.” Osayande promised further improvements, including fencing the primary school and constructing a borehole to address water shortages.

The campaign then addressed a large gathering of market women at St. Saviour junction, who expressed their gratitude for the market money program, which has significantly boosted their trades. They promised to support the PDP candidates in September.

Campaign materials such as fliers, umbrellas, aprons, and Asue-Ogie face caps were distributed, generating enthusiasm among residents and passersby.

Former Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Chief Douglas Usoh, joined the campaign, along with current PDP Ikpoba-Okha Chairman, Mr. Friday Aiwumuagbonrie, and other local leaders. They all called for strong support from the Church and community in the upcoming election.

The growing support across Ikpoba-Okha is a promising sign for the PDP/Asue-Ogie movement as the election approaches.
