Thousands of private candidates who sat for the 2026 Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination can now check their results as the West African Examinations Council announced the release today Friday March 27, 2026.
In a post shared on its official X account on Friday, WAEC stated that candidates would be able to access their results within the next 12 hours. “The result of CB-WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2026–First Series has been released. Candidates can access their results within the next 12 hours. Our thanks to all stakeholders for cooperating with us to achieve this feat,” the council stated.
WAEC noted that the timely release of the results reflects its commitment to improving service delivery through the adoption of technology and efficient examination processes.
A total of 10,480 candidates sat for the examination conducted across 166 centres in Nigeria between January 28 and February 14. Out of the total candidates, 3,429 representing 32.72 percent obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
Acting Head of Public Affairs Moyosola F. Adesina also disclosed that 43 candidates with special needs participated in the examination including visually impaired candidates, candidates with hearing impairments and albinos all of whom received appropriate support during the exercise.
The council did not report any major issues during the conduct of the examination, signalling a more stable process compared to previous years. WAEC commended examination officials, partners and all stakeholders for their cooperation in ensuring the smooth running of the exercise.
Candidates are advised to check their results through WAEC’s official portal using their registration details as soon as the results become fully accessible.
