Former Nigerian international, Edema Fuludu, has expressed confidence in interim Super Eagles coach Finidi George’s ability to guide the team to victory.
Fuludu’s endorsement comes in the wake of Nigeria’s 2-1 triumph over Ghana in an international friendly match.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Fuludu advocated for Finidi’s appointment as the permanent coach of the Super Eagles.
“Finidi is calm, composed, and possesses the coaching qualifications necessary to manage the team effectively. He is not easily swayed and has the capacity to handle the players, having learned from former coach Jose Peseiro,” Fuludu remarked.
Fuludu emphasized the importance of employing an indigenous coach for the Super Eagles, believing that it would lead to better understanding and cohesion within the team. He expressed satisfaction with the victory over Ghana, noting that it would boost team morale and elevate Nigeria’s global ranking.
“I have always maintained that hiring a Nigerian coach for the Super Eagles would bring out the best in our national players due to the coach’s familiarity with the team,” Fuludu concluded.
