Reports emanating from Okene, Kogi State has it that an explosion has occured killing three persons.
The incidence occurred in Okene, Okene local government area of Kogi State.
The incident occurred on Thursday morning around the Ohinoyi of Ebira Land’s Palace in Okene town.
This happened few hours before the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari in the State, to commission some projects.
As at the time of making this report, Police operatives of the Anti-Bomb Unit have been drafted to the scene of the incident.
Some witnesses account stated that the blast was as a result of an overloaded electricity transformer that exploded, leaving the people around it dead and few others injured.
Few hours after the incident, President Muhammadu Buhari arrived Okene and commissioned projects by the state government which included, ultramodern Reference Hospital in Okene, Ohinoyi Palace, and several township roads.
According to reports, the President has departed Okene for Lokoja to commission more projects by the state government.
