Israel-Hamas War: IDF Fighter Jets Killed Three Hamas Commanders, Says Israeli Military

The Israeli military on Monday, affirmed its ongoing ground operations in the Gaza Strip, reporting the elimination of three additional Hamas company commanders.

“Israeli army continue to operate in the Gaza Strip, directing aircraft to strike terrorists, terrorist infrastructure, and locating weapons and military equipment. IDF fighter jets, directed by IDF and ISA intelligence, killed three additional Hamas company commanders,” the Israeli military said in a statement as cited by Alarabiya news report.

It added: “Troops identified a terrorist cell as they entered a nearby building. As a result of the strike carried out by an IDF aircraft, the terrorists were killed and a weapons depot in which they hid was struck.”

Hamas did not immediately respond to the Israeli army’s claims.

A day earlier, the Israeli military claimed evidence uncovered with ISA’s aid proved Hamas had utilized Al-Shifa hospital as “terrorist infrastructure” and hostage holding.

The documentation revealed Hamas militants forcibly moving hostages, including a Nepalese and a Thai civilian kidnapped from Israeli territory, along with IDF vehicles within the hospital area.

Palestinian authorities countered, citing Israeli aggression resulting in 12,415 fatalities and around 32,500 injuries, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk, on his part, condemned the killings at schools-turned-shelters, the chaos at Al-Shifa Hospital, and the mass displacement of hundreds of thousands in southern Gaza, flagging these actions as violations of international law’s fundamental civilian protections.

Reports from the UN highlighted ongoing Israeli military operations in and around Al-Shifa Hospital, deeming the area a “death zone.” Urgent missions were planned to evacuate remaining patients and health staff from the hospital, according to WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
