The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has unanimously granted Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan an automatic ticket to seek re-election for a second term representing Kogi Central Senatorial District.
The State Chairman of the party, Muhammed Sanni Gambo, announced the decision on Wednesday during a stakeholders’ meeting in Okene, where party leaders and supporters formally endorsed the senator for another term in the Senate.
According to Ebira Reporters, Gambo justified the rare automatic ticket by highlighting Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s “rare achievements” and impactful performance within just two years in the National Assembly.
“If in just two years she could deliver such impactful legislative service, then she deserves the full backing of her people,” Gambo said.
He described the senator as “a pride of representation and a shining example of effective leadership,” adding that her distinguished record among peers makes her the natural choice for continuity.
The PDP chairman further declared Akpoti-Uduaghan as part of “a winning team you don’t change,” expressing confidence that her re-election could position her for a principal leadership role in the Senate.
Gambo urged other elected officials to emulate her “sterling and uncommon qualities,” which he said reflect integrity, dedication, and a strong commitment to the welfare of the people.
“A vote for her is a vote for the less privileged, for orphans, and for women’s development. It is a vote for integrity and sincerity in representation,” he added.
The party chairman called on the people of Kogi Central to rally behind the senator’s re-election bid, noting that her performance has set a new benchmark for legislative service in the district since 1999.
