Osun Election: Adeleke Denies ADC Alliance Claims, Credits God, Voters For Victory

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has firmly rejected claims by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that it contributed to his re-election, insisting that there was no electoral agreement, alliance, or partnership between him and the party before, during, or after the governorship election.

Adeleke, in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said his victory was secured through the support of the people of Osun State and, above all, by the grace of God.

The governor also dismissed the ADC’s claim of involvement in his campaign, stressing that the party was not part of the coalition of political groups and stakeholders that mobilised support for his re-election bid in last Saturday’s poll.

He maintained that his victory was the product of a clear mandate from Osun voters, urging political actors to respect the outcome of the election and refrain from making claims that could misrepresent the circumstances surrounding his victory.

“I commend the political partners who went all out to make Saturday a victory day for all Osun people.

“However, for the sake of history, we must clarify that the ADC was never part of this alliance,” the governor stated.

“Now that the election is over, I am the governor of all Osun people, irrespective of political affiliation, religion, or race”, Adeleke said.
