Kogi Abducted CUSTECH Students Rescued Amidst Shootout

In a daring operation, the Kogi State Government successfully rescued several students abducted by gunmen at the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara. The rescue mission, carried out by local hunters and security agents, came hours after Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s visit to the institution to reassure parents of his commitment to rescuing the students.

Truth Live News gathered that locql vigilantes and security forces engaged the kidnappers in a fierce shootout, resulting in the escape of the criminals with gunshot wounds. Fortunately, the students managed to flee in different directions to avoid being caught in the crossfire.

A significant number of abducted students, along with others in captivity, have been rescued and provided with medical attention. Security agents are currently conducting extensive searches in the forests to ensure the safe return of all kidnapped students.

However, the operation was not without casualties. A local hunter and a Department of State Services (DSS) operative sustained injuries during the rescue mission and are currently receiving medical treatment.

The bravery and gallantry of the local hunters and security agents have been commended by the Kogi State Government. Special recognition was given to the DSS for coordinating the operation based on credible intelligence, showcasing the state’s unwavering stance against criminal elements.

The successful rescue operation underscores Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s commitment to ensuring the security and safety of the people of Kogi State. Residents are urged to report individuals with gunshot wounds in their communities to law enforcement agencies.
